Hello again

Not sure where the time goes these days but it has been very busy in the DerynDu nest lately. We enjoyed a fabulous holiday in Dorset where  the little Mischief encountered the sea for the first time. Did he run away scared when the tide come in? whinge at the feeling of ice cold water on his toes? Not a Chance…this boy was all GERONIMO!! I had to hold tight to his hand otherwise he would have been off!
Its the Sea!

We really took a shine to these beach huts. Such a variety of colours!

The mischief had a lot of fun at a family trip to Chester Zoo. Him and his cousin definitely look like they are up to no good and enjoyed chasing each other though there were lots of territorial shouts if I cuddled my nephew too long!

I also managed to finish a quilting project. A baby blanket for one of my friends. It was intended to be gender neutral as she didn’t know what she was having but I gravitated to the greens and blues. Turns out it was a boy after all so it worked out brilliantly! The central star is easy to put together and I just surrounded it with a log cabin style border. The backing is a lovely subtle fabric with tiny safari animals in an off white/brown print. I bound it all in turquoise and added rounded corners to offset all the geometry. Overall the neatest quilt I have ever made!!
